DAYONE

well, I didn't get a chance to post until tonight... so here's my day 1 experience.

first off, I followed the recipe to the letter, it was pretty easy. instead of making 6 ten ounce batches I made two 30 ounce. I used two smart water bottles (33 ounces each) and left a little room at the top so i had an even 30 ounces (times two).

I started the day off with the salt water flush. and let me tell you it really does FLUSH. two teaspoons of sea salt and 32oz of water is all it takes. it took about an hour and I had to make a mad dash for the outhouse (think slumdog millionaire...sorry) it really was horrible tasting, it took me a long time to drink it. I was just taking little sips and hating it. I finally had to just suck it up and pretend I was on fear factor or something... I read using a straw was better so maybe tomorrow I'll try that. I can't imagine drinking that everyday (but I have to). I have much more respect for sea life now.

on to the "lemonade", I pretty much polished off both bottles (60oz) throughout the day, I am going to use the little bit I have left as a night cap. it tastes is a million times better than the salt water (ok, I'll stop bitching about the salt water). it is a bit spicy because of the cayenne pepper. (btw, the term Cayenne pepper is considered to be misnomer by the American Spice Trade Association, which prefers the more generic term red pepper). I think I'll be fine with drinking this for 9 more days, no problem.

as far the hunger aspect goes, I didn't have one moment where I was hungry. I know I've got nine days so I'm sure I will have to deal with that soon enough. I'm convinced that this is 100% mental. I surely have enough excess energy that I'm toting around (in my mid-section) to last me a few months.

now, I've heard (and read) all the bad (and good) things about this cleanse and feel the good outweigh the bad by far. For those of you that know me, know that when I REALLY want to do something I do it, I'm not worried at all.


*note to self: after adding cayenne pepper (I mean red pepper) to bottle DO NOT rub eyes...

DAYTWO

not a whole lot to report today, the salt water wasn't as bad (other than the four trips to the BR) and the lemonade drink is great if you lay off the red pepper a little (a pinch is all you need). I read today that you can just take a shot of the red pepper with some water and then only have the lemon juice syrup combo. I think I'll try that tomorrow.

I drank the senna tea tonight, it was good.

I also did about an hour at the gym on the treadmill, no problem.

I have tons of energy and have feel really hungry, don't get me wrong my stomach is growling a lot, but I'm not craving food... yet.
